Juditha Triumphans

Armatae face et anguibus
a caeco regno squallido
furoris sociae barbari,
furiae, venite ad nos.

Morte, flagello, stragibus
vindictam tanti funeris
irata nostra pectora
duces docete vos.

Noli o cara te adorantis
Voto Ducis non favere,
Et suspiria animae amantis
Saltem disce non horrere.

Transit aetas,
Volant anni,
Nostri damni
Causa sumus.

Vivit anima immortalis
Si vitalis
Amor, ignis, cuncta fumus.
Armed with fireballs and fire-breathing dragons,1
from your rough, uncouth realm
of ravagement, of savage relation,
Furies, come to us.

With death, scourging and slaughter,
revenge for such a death,
our enraged hearts,
commanders, teach.

Do not, o my dear, of an adoring,
Devoted lord, find disfavour,
And at least learn not to take fright
At the sighs of a loving soul.

Life passes,
Years fly by,
Of our loss,
We ourselves are the cause.

The soul lives immortal
If in life,
Love and passion are nothing but smoke.
